Training

CFM-F offers training programmes for both practicing physicians and medical students. All programmes share a common foundation: developing the inner competencies (mindfulness, self-compassion, reflection, and presence) that sustain meaningful medical practice over a lifetime.

For medical students

The center explores new approaches to curriculum development and designing assessment systems that promote positive attitudes toward medicine. A special focus is placed on strengthening the physician’s identity ("being a doctor") as a unit of personal and professional development and the promotion of reflexivity (self-awareness and reflective practice).

Together with Gregor Hasler, Professor of Psychiatry, a course on ‘Burnout and Flourishing in Doctors’ is offered to fifth-year medical students in Fribourg.

  • A nine-week mind-body medicine course is offered in French and German to medical students in the second year of training in Fribourg.
  • A contribution to the elective course ‘Social and Emotional Skills’ at the University of Lausanne is planned.
For practicing physicians

The centre, together with its partners, offers four-day continuing education workshops in German and French.
